I know! Not good, right? The paint came down with the wallpaper. I don't think that's supposed to happen. (Don's gonna kill me, maybe.) As I moved to another room, I got better.

A couple questions (for whomever might have some advice for me!)
It's taking FOREVER (literally worked for hours today and have a long, long way to go).
Does it always take this long?
Any tips on how to do this better?
Should I use a steamer thing?
What the heck do you do with all the sticky stuff left on the wall when the paper's off?

whoever invented wall paper should be SHOT!!! i'll have to ask my mom for tips on taking it down, although i'm not sure she ever takes it down. i think she just wallpapers on wallpaper. try the steam. i've tried the scorer/vinegar method and that was worthless on the 5 layers i was attempting to remove.
hey...i heard that fabric softner helps take wallpaper down...never tried it myself, but worth a try! i think there is a product out there that takes off the glue stuff, but you might have to "sand" it off?? did you know that you can paint over wallpaper? cool about the window though!! why would they cover a window!! what a bonus!
steam, definitely. Should really help with that old crap.
Love the house....you are a brave woman, but I envy your attempts at making it your very own. Jen Wade sent me here from her blog. I will keep checking on your progress. You go girl!
Jen is right about her mom. If I take down paper, the sticky stuff left over just helps my new paper stick!! But I do think the steam thing works.
Thanks for all your suggestions and encouragement. More attempts this weekend using all these different ideas.
